Hello! I'm Sasha from the UK. I post at various forums as MsBigPileofDust. I create custom made action figures, busts and mini-busts for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Fray and Firefly. Disclaimer To quote Willow from The Initiative: “A vague disclaimer is nobody's friend.” None of my work would be possible without the superb action figures produced by Moore Action Collectibles, Diamond Select Toys and others. They create flawless sculptures which are then factory produced as plastic action figures, resin busts and mini-busts (which can be used as Christmas tree ornaments). I buy these items in the traditional way, via online retailers or eBay. I attack them with scalpels, sculpt over them, boil them, glue them and paint them. Mwahahaha! My work is hand-made and far from perfect. I'm an amateur and I only discovered my artistic side as recently as 2003, through my fascination with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I do sell my work but it is a hobby for me, not a business, and the parts have sometimes cost more than the price of the customs. Some of the folks at Moore and DST have seen my website and they are not offended by my Frankenstein creations. Inspiration Joss Whedon is my hero. I adore all his work. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my first love but I also have room in my heart for Angel and Firefly. Fray is the first graphic novel I have read and it inspired me to do a new line. I interact with a great community at the BtVSFigs forum. I was introduced to it by Flobbster. He does exceptional work, which inspired me to start customising, as do many of the other folk at the site. I am a member of the Custom Coalition managed by Casimir. He also hosts the CustomCon. |
