White-Christmas-in-Sunnydale Buffy & Angel (December 2006) For those unfamiliar with customising, the pale pink stuff is the colour of the 'super sculpey' sculpting clay that I put over the plastic figures. It can be translucent, so you can often see the original colour of the figure underneath. Once I've finished sculpting, I always completely repaint the whole figure. I made Buffy and Angel figures, walking through the miraculous snow in the "Amends" episode.
Sculpting Thanks to Moore Action Collectibles and Diamond Select Toys for the parts. I used a deluxe Buffy figure with Buffy 2 legs, and a Season 5 Angel figure.
For Buffy, I removed her feet and sculpted her trousers to just above the knee. I then sculpted the skirt of the coat, holding the legs to the hips. I sculpted the folds and details of the coat. I removed her hair and sculpted the up-do. For Angel, I removed the feet and pelvis. I sculpted the legs into a walking position and joined them to the torso. I sculpted his jumper, then his long coat. I removed his left hand and sculpted his arm going into one pocket. I removed Buffy's left hand and sculpted it into Angel's right. I added some hair. Their free arms both bend at the elbow, so that they can be positioned with Buffy's cuff resting against Angel's, to hide the wrist join. I sculpted the deep snow on the stand and made foot holds for the figures.
Painting I painted Buffy's looking traumatised after Angel was nearly dusted by the morning light, and shocked by the miraculous snow-cover that saved him. I painted Angel looking happy about the confirmation that the Powers That Be saved him, but concerned about Buffy's trauma. I used a backdrop from a Lost figure. I painted it with the pre-dawn sky and falling snow. I painted snow-flakes falling on Buffy and Angel.
