Enjoying-a-Bubble-Bath Glory & Blind-Folded Minions Murk, Jinx & Slook (September 2008)

I made Glory for the "Tough Love" episode, where she is bathing while attended by blind-folded Minions.

Thanks to MAC, DST and ToyBiz for the parts.

Glory - Reference & Parts

Glory: "Mmm... vitamins."

I used a bath from a dolls house, a Glory head and hand, a Prom Buffy torso, Cordy's leg, and Galadriel's foot.

Glory - Sculpt, Paint, Water & Froth

The sculpt was quite simple. I sculpted her tied up curls, smoothed the knee joint and pointed her foot. I sculpted her shoulders and just made the rest of the body very roughly, to make sure the positions were correct. I knew these parts wouldn't be seen.

I filled the tub with tap water to get an idea of the water level. I dried her off, painted the body parts and placed her in the tub. I painted her with her eyes closed and a big smile, enjoying her mimosa.

I mixed a green-y hue of Scenic Water and poured it into the tub, up to about 3mm less than I wanted the final level. I left that until almost solid, then melted some Scenic White a poured a few drops in. Then swirled them around a bit with a fork. I whipped up some semi-solid Scenic White into a cottage cheesy substance and placed lumps in strategic places.

I painted the inside of a miniature champagne class to look like a mimosa, then added some orange tinted Scenic Water to the glass. I placed it in Glory's hand.

When the tub water and froth was set, I added another 3mm of clear Scenic Water to hold the lumps in place. I let this dry over night. Finally, I added some UHU glue over the Scenic White to make more fuzzy bubbles on top. Then I sprayed with a matt sealant to dull it all down and make it all more solid.

Minions - Reference & Parts

Minion: "Oh... your Scrumptiousness, we bathe in your splendiferous radiance, your aromatic..."

I used a Lorne head and Spike body.

Minions - Sculpt, Mould & Cast

I sculpted one Minion, then took a mould and cast 2 more figures.

I made minor alterations to their height, weight, hair, etc to make them each a little different.

Minions - Paint

I painted them as Murk, Jinx and Slook. I sculpted the loofah. The trays and chocolates are from a Dolls House. The bathroom floor is a sample of mosaic tile vinyl stuck to thick card.
