*Light-Up* Monstrous-Childbirth Cordy & Jasmine (December 2007) For those unfamiliar with customising, the pale pink stuff is the colour of the 'super sculpey' sculpting clay that I put over the plastic figures. It can be translucent, so you can often see the original colour of the figure underneath. Once I've finished sculpting, I always completely repaint the whole figure. I was commission by a new buyer to make Cordy giving birth to Jasmine in "Inside Out". Reference & Parts I used a MAC Cordy 2 figure with the Cheerleader head, and DST Princess Cordy legs. Thanks to MAC & DST for the parts.
Sculpt I added a little baby weight to Cordy's cheeks. I positioned her lying partly on her side and holding up her top to show her pregnant belly. I sculpted her clothes and the quilt.
Base & Jasmine I put two DST stands together to make the base. I drilled holes in the back of the stand for a screw and some fairy lights. The lights are operated by a battery pack behind the stand. I covered the stand in wall-paper boarder for texture, and to diffuse the lights. For Jasmine, I used part of a plastic octopus to make a mould. I used clear resin with a few drops of yellow dye in the cast. I deliberately let the resin overflow the mould to get some waves between the tentacles.
Paint I painted the stand grey and used a light dry brush. I painted Cordy with her eyes closed and Connor's bloody hand-print fading into her belly. I used gold pen to detail the lining of her coat.
The buyer requested that I make her face look peaceful.
