The-Sleeper-Will-Wake! The Master (February 2007)

For those unfamiliar with customising, the pale pink stuff is the colour of the 'super sculpey' sculpting clay that I put over the plastic figures. It can be translucent, so you can often see the original colour of the figure underneath. Once I've finished sculpting, I always completely repaint the whole figure.

My niece and nephew made this bust with me. Harry worked on the figure and Hannah on the stand.

We made The Master from "Welcome to the Hellmouth" in his first appearance, rising from a pool of blood.

Sculpt

February 2007. Thanks to Sideshow Toys for the parts.

We sawed through a Sideshow doll at the waist & forearms. We positioned his head looking a up and to the right. We sculpted and painted his leather coat.

We added sculpey to a plastic carton to look like a craggy rock pool with parts of The Master's legs to pad out the bottom. We painted the rock and stuck a grey felt pad to the bottom for a smooth base.

Paint

I painted his face. I gave him a smile. He's looking up and enjoying his rebirth. Harry painted his coat and buttons. Hannah painted the stand and dry-brushed the detail.

The Pool of Blood

We used Scenic Water dyed dark red for the blood, with a few beads and glue for the bubbles.
