Returning-the-Ring Buffy & Angel (January 2008)

For those unfamiliar with customising, the pale pink stuff is the colour of the 'super sculpey' sculpting clay that I put over the plastic figures. It can be translucent, so you can often see the original colour of the figure underneath. Once I've finished sculpting, I always completely repaint the whole figure.

I was commissioned to make the scene in "Faith, Hope, & Trick" by Annette. Buffy returns Angel's Claddagh ring. This has the effect of bringing Angel back from the Hell Dimension.

The idea for the custom is that Buffy is leaving the mansion, when Angel reappears. She half turns round, thinking that she hears something, but then leaves.

Parts

For Buffy, I used a deluxe Buffy head, Prom body and Mary Jane legs.

For Angel, I used an Angel figure with Prom head and Yellow Bastard legs. Thanks to JediDoug for the recipe.

For Angel's mansion, I used the lower floor of the Van Helsing Castle.

Thanks to DST, McFarlane, Jakks Pacific, and ToyBiz for the parts .

Sculpt

I sculpted Buffy half looking round as she walks away. I sculpted over the joints, added her hair and sculpted the dress. I bulked up her skinny calves a little.

I sculpted Angel in a discreet position, to preserve his dignity.

Paint

I improved Buffy's likeness and painted her patterned dress. I repainted the Van Helsing castle in light stone grey and painted dark wood doors.

I painted Angel with his eyes shut. I gave him a sheen of sweat from his travels! I included the Claddagh ring, near his stomach.
