Wham-Bam-Thank-You-Ma'am! Spike & Buffy (May 2007) For those unfamiliar with customising, the pale pink stuff is the colour of the 'super sculpey' sculpting clay that I put over the plastic figures. It can be translucent, so you can often see the original colour of the figure underneath. Once I've finished sculpting, I always completely repaint the whole figure. I made Buffy and Spike as a pair for the "Smashed" episode, where they finally get it on in a derelict house.
Sculpt For Buffy, I used a deluxe Buffy head and torso with Anya arms and Vanessa Kensington feet. For Spike, I used the Punk head and shirtless body. I sculpted Buffy's sleeves and attached the left arm to the torso. I then linked Buffy's hands together to sit comfortably around Spike's neck and sculpted the right shoulder attachment. I sculpted her necklace, top, jacket and hair. I sculpted her hips and skirt fitting against Spike's hips. I sculpted the rest of her legs under Spike's coat in a separated piece. I attached her feet behind his thighs. I removed the punky hair and sculpted Spike's hair. I sculpted his necklace, vest and shirt. I resculpted the edges of his coat to cover where it was pushed out to accommodate Buffy's legs. I made the arms separately, so that they could be glued into position at the end. I removed the shoulders so that I could resculpt them and position the arms more naturally.
Paint I made the figures in separate pieces so that they could be painted before gluing them to each other and to the stand. I painted Buffy looking intently at Spike; I painted Spike's face like he can't believe his luck!
I used a Little Nicky stand. I smashed up the blinds, then added some gunk and dust to the stand. I glued the figures together and added the arms. I painted some dust scuff on their clothing from the fight. I then glued them to the stand and sprayed them with fixative.
